4th overall for Kristy Gillespie at Australian 4-Day Enduro

Reigning Australian Women’s Motocross Champion Kristy Gillespie has put in a determined effort in her first attempt at one of the toughest events on the off-road calendar, the Australian 4-Day Enduro collecting a 4th overall in the women’s category.

Reflecting on the event, Gillespie said “My main goal was to just get through the whole four days and make it to the end. I ran into a few hassles along the way but found some good form.

“I just really wanted to challenge myself and get through to the end so to come to the motocross round on day four was awesome. The motocross format was more like a grass track but I was able to get to the front on my KTM 250EXC-F.

I won the motocross round and combined with my previous three day’s results, a 4th place overall was a great result for me.”

GMR Motorex KTM Team Manager Glenn Macdonald was certainly proud of Kristy’s achievements

“Kristy is a tough racer and even though she is a motocross specialist, riding and competing in enduro events is great cross-training for her in the lead up to her Championship events this season.”

Kristy will next compete at the Victorian Women’s Motocross Championships on 2 & 3 May at the State Motorcycle Complex at Broadford.

Stay tuned to and for team updates and results.
