GMR Motorex KTM on track at day one of Junior Nationals

In the first day of racing at the Australian Junior Motocross Championships all GMR Motorex KTM racers showed excellent speed and form.

In the 9-u12 years 85cc class Jesse Dobson raced two rounds of heats and picked up a 2nd and 3rd respectively. Dobson drew heavily stacked heat racers with many of the top class riders for the age group.

In the 12-14 years 85cc class, Joben Baldwin flew the flag for the team and whilst he had a great start to heat two of round one, an unfortunate crash saw him fighting back from the rear of the pack to a credible 9th place finish. Baldwin made amends in his round two heat draw to take a 3rd place in a hard fought race against the likes of Jackson Richardson and Dylan Long.

The GMR Motorex KTM three-pronged attack in the 13-14 years 125cc class was outstanding for the team with a 1-2-3 finish for Sam Duncanson, Joben Baldwin and Dylan Berwick in heat draw two of round one.

In the 15 years 125cc the class did not require heats and will be a five race final. Reed suffered a poor start after being kit along the start straight by another competitor. Reed did well to regain composure and earn valuable points in the hotly contested class.

In the 13-14 years 250F class, Berwick drew heat draw one and collected a well earned 2nd place to Jake Wright. Duncanson drew heat two but become tangled in a first turn pile up. Bike damage wouldn’t allow Duncanson to re-start quickly and joined the race a lap down. With damage to the spark plug, Duncanson simply nursed the bike through the moto.

In the 15 years 250F class, Reed moved through the pack quickly and mixed with local riders Ashley Whisler and Jake Zelich. Reed claimed 2nd for the moto.

All riders are doing extremely well and are well placed to collect further impressive results as the week of racing continues.

Stay tuned to for further race results.
