Motorex KTM top the podium in three classes at Hattah Desert Race

Motorex KTM juniors Wayde Carter and Callum Norton proved convincing domination of the Hattah Desert Race in two junior categories, while Kristy Gillespie claimed a narrow win in the ladies class in one of the most demanding off-road events on the national calendar.

Carter and Norton claimed very impressive qualifying times, Carter’s time would have placed him 5th in the senior outright prologue time sheet on board his KTM250SXF. Norton topped the charts in the 85cc class, and 9th outright in the juniors. Both riders went on to win their respective classes in Saturday’s racing in dominating form.

Sunday’s program saw women’s racer Kristy Gillespie claim a narrow win in the ladies class, the two hour marathon was a sweet victory after mechanical issues put her out of the event in 2012.

Carter has vowed to return to Hattah in 2014, as a senior competitor, where he hopes to tackle the 4 hour sand race against the countries best off-road racers.

Motorex KTM would like to thank their sponsors: KTM Australia, Motorex, Michelin, Kustom MX and Bell Helmets. Future results and updates on the junior racing program can be found here:
