Gillespie clean sweeps VIC MX Championship, Swan Hill

Motorex KTM racer Kristy Gillespie claimed round two honours for the Victorian Motocross Championships at Swan Hill scoring 1-1-1 race results. The perfect round score now gives Gillespie a 15 point lead in the title chase.

“The track was sandy, rutted and technical which played to my strengths so it was pretty rewarding to come home with three straight wins’ said Gillespie ‘I also raced in the B grade Lites class I finished really well against the guys, finishing equal 5th and only three points off the podium.”

The seven-time consecutive Victorian champion used her experience to place herself in good stead for what she hopes will be her 8th consecutive women’s state championship title.

Team Manager Glenn Macdonald was once again proud of Gillespie’s consistent impressive results  “Kristy has yet again placed herself well in the title chase and is certainly doing it in style with a clean sweep of moto wins at Swan Hill. There are a couple of rounds to go so there is still a lot of work to do but Kristy certainly has what it takes to secure another title.”

Round three will head to Ararat on 20 & 21 July, followed by the finale at Outrim on 3 & 4 August 2013.
