KTM racer Egan Mastin claims dual NSW Motocross Championships in dominating style

The New South Wales Motocross Championships concluded at Coonabararan on the weekend of 8 & 9 July and saw GMR Motorex KTM racer Egan Mastin claim dual junior Championships.

In 2011, Mastin won the 12-13 years 85cc NSW Motocross Championship and was runner up in the 13-u15 years 125-150cc class. In 2012, Mastin contested the Championship on his KTM150SX hoping to go one better and claim the number one plate and also stepped up onto the KTM250SXF for his first season of competition.

Mastin claimed the victories in dominating style, winning 17 of 18 series races across both classes.

“I am really happy with the wins and to claim the titles with a clean sweep of each class at Coonabarabran was pretty sweet too’ said Mastin “The series ran almost perfectly for me, I won all but one race. Thanks to my dad and all my other supporters as well as my team, I couldn’t do it without them.”

Team Manager Glenn Macdonald said “Egan has done an outstanding job claiming the two titles this year, doing so in dominating style. Egan won 17 of 18 races during the series with his only blemish, a second place in one race.’

‘Egan has been consistent and is really gaining momentum on board the bigger bikes and places him in good stead for not only the FIM World Championships in Bulgaria in late August, but also the Australian Junior Nationals in September.’

‘Everyone at GMR Motorex KTM and our associated sponsors congratulate Egan and his support team for the exceptional results.”
