Disappointment for Scott Mann after solid qualifying at Super X, Round 3

07-11-11

Round 3 of the 2011 Monster Energy Super X made its way to Campbelltown, NSW on 5 November 2011with GMR Motorex KTM racer Scott Mann keen to make headway on the series points tally.

Mann suffered bad luck in the opening round of the Super X series, ultimately claiming 9th place after holding 3rd position for most of the race in his first ever Supercross event. Round 2 of the series was cancelled due to severe weather conditions at Wollongong but after a solid qualifying and heat race at Campbelltown Mann was well positioned for a podium result until a crash in the final ruled him out.

“I knew I had the pace and the bike was running really good so to crash out in the final after such a good jump from the gate is just really disappointing” said Mann.

Team Manager Glenn Macdonald added “I really feel for Scott, he has made a quick transition from Motocross to Supercross racing and has adapted really well but the cards are just not falling his way come the finals. It was a heavy crash in the rhythm section at Campbelltown and we suspect damage to his foot. He is seeing specialists this week to check it over and hopefully, all going well, we will see him back out on the track at Round 4 in Maitland this weekend.”
