GMR Motorex KTM racers ready to embark on FIM World Junior Motocross Championship, Italy

08-08-11

With the 2011 FIM World Junior Motocross Championship in Italy just under a week away, GMR Motorex KTM racers Reece Rayner, Mitch Evans and Scott Mann are undertaking final preparations in readiness for the huge task at hand.

In addition to the efforts of Motorcycling Australia, GMR Motorex KTM team sponsors and supporters have rallied together since the Australian contingent was announced to give each of the three racers every opportunity to be well prepared when they land on Italian soil.

“We are very fortunate to have the support we do’ says GMR Motorex KTM Team Manager Glenn Macdonald ‘Our riders have had 2012 model KTM machines made available with the incredible support of KTM Australia and KTM Austria so we have the best machines available. We also aim to have our riders as comfortable as possible and with the support of Michelin Australia and Michelin France our racers will be using Michelin tyres as they do here in Australia.’

‘The bikes will also be personalised with our sponsored product such as custom Ringmaster graphics kits, designed exclusively for the event, as well as Easton bars and the riders kitted with fresh FOX helmets.’

‘GMR racers are also fortunate to have the support of Eddy Van den Hoek from EHR head quarters as well as KTM dealer Ulissi Moto in San Severino Marche.’

The event, scheduled for 13 & 14 August 2011 at Cingoli Italy will see world class riders vying for top honours, with GMR racers no strangers to success at the event in past years having supported race team members Jay Wilson (1st 2009 85cc), Dylan Long (3rd 2009 85cc) and Mann (9th 2010 85cc) previously.

Rayner will contest the 65cc, Evans the 85cc and Mann in the 125cc class and while Evans and Mann have competed in the event previously, placing 6th and 9th in their respective classes in 2010, this will be Rayner’s first outing at the event.

Macdonald continued ‘We are under no illusions that the competition will be extremely tough and this is why we have gone to great lengths to ensure our racers are comfortable and well prepared as we have in past years. Preparation is a key ingredient, but ultimately it will all come down to qualifying and two motos next Sunday.”

Everyone at GMR Motorex KTM, KTM Australia and our associated sponsors wish Reece, Mitchell and Scott the very best of luck.
