GMR Motorex KTM racers on the podium at Geelong Open

Andy Dinicol and Callum Norton contested the Geelong Open on 20 March, with both riders coming away with podium results.

The Barrabool circuit was well prepared with deep ruts in sections and made for some solid race-practice in the lead up to the Victorian Junior Motocross Championships.

“I had a pretty good ride at Barrabool and finished on the podium for both classes” said Dinicol. “My starts were good and I pulled the holeshot in one of my 150 races. I am only new to the 150 so things are looking positive. My 85 was running awesome after we had made some changes to the set up so I am really looking forward to the Vics in a few weeks.”

“Andy is really stepping it up on the KTM 85SX” said Team Manager Glenn Macdonald. “We have done a bit of work on the set-up and he has been training hard. With such a huge increase in his speed of late as well as a growth spurt, we are trying to keep on top of the set-up and working on keeping him focused and safe so we can put in a solid performance at the Victorian titles.”

Macdonald continued “This is Andy’s third competitive outing on the KTM 150SX, so the 3rd overall is really positive.”

“Our support rider Callum Norton also had a great outing this weekend at Barrabool taking three wins from three starts in both the 65cc and younger 85cc classes. Rider numbers were down in these classes, but that didn’t stop young Callum putting in his all and working on his race-practice in the lead up to the Victorian state titles.”
