Mitchell Evans takes the win in season opener with GMR Motorex KTM Racing Team

GMR Motorex KTM new recruit Mitchell Evans has kicked off his season by taking the win at the Sid Carucci Memorial Open held at Mareeba on 19 & 20 February.

Evan's from Redlych QLD took the win in the 12-u16 years 85cc-150F class.

“This was a great way to start my season” said Evans. “I had some good competition from Wilson Todd with the lead changing a few times in the second race, so I was wrapped to pick up 2-1-1 results for the overall.”

Team Manager Glenn Macdonald was very pleased with the result and said “The Mareeba circuit turned on quite the challenge this weekend, with sloppy conditions on Saturday followed by dusty ruts on Sunday. Mitchell remained consistent and focused, handling the changing conditions with ease to take the overall.”

“This was also Mitchell’s debut event with the GMR Motorex KTM team, with the result being a great way to kick off the season.”

“We have some additional preparation work in the lead up to the Sunshine State Series to ensure we are at the top of our game, but I have no doubt that when Mitchell’s season gets into full swing we will see even more fantastic results.”
