Mastin on the podium in debut with GMR Motorex KTM Racing Team

Young gun Egan Mastin scored second overall at the Oakdale Challenge in the 85cc class in his debut ride with GMR Motorex KTM.

“The conditions were tough because of the rain we had but I am pretty happy with a second overall in my first event for the season. I turn 13 in a few weeks so I can’t wait to jump on my KTM 150SX and start competing on the bigger bike” said Mastin.

Team Manager Glenn Macdonald commented “Congratulations to Egan on his first event with the team. It was a great start to the year. Stepping onto the 150SX, I think young Egan will turn a few heads! We are certainly looking forward to him stepping up onto the bigger bike.”

Aaron Tanti collected the win, with Dylan Heaton in third.

Fellow team mate Reece Rayner had mechanical gremlins hamper his result at the event in the younger 85cc class but showed lightening speed during the day’s event.

Meanwhile, team support rider Callum Norton took the win in both the 65cc and 85cc classes at the Warnambool Open.
