GMR Motorex KTM Racing Team has fresh faces and expanded line up in 2011

The Glenn Macdonald Racing Motorex KTM team will see a fresh and exciting line up for the 2011 season. GMR Motorex KTM will yet again field a team representing junior and women’s racing in an expanded line up of five juniors and one women’s representative, as well as a support rider, headed up by team owner and manager Glenn Macdonald.

“Season 2010 was massive for GMR Motorex KTM’ says Macdonald ‘Our riders were extremely successful and added another 10 number one plates to their mantle pieces. It has also brought the GMR KTM championship tally to 26 in just four years.”

The team has worked hard behind the scenes to find a group of talented up and comers to fill the spots vacated by Dylan Long and Jay Wilson who both move into the senior ranks.

Scott Mann, Reece Rayner and Kristy Gillespie will all return with GMR Motorex KTM and will be joined by new-comers Mitchell Evans, Egan Mastin and Andy Dinicol.

Team rider information as follows:

Reece Rayner (QLD) 9-11 years 65SX and 85SX: Reece placed 2nd in the 9-11 years 65cc class at the Australian titles and 4th at the QLD titles. Reece has collected a string of podiums throughout the season and is keen to cement podium finishes in 2011 in both the 65cc and 85cc classes at the nationals.

Mitchell Evans (FNQ/QLD) 12-13 years 85SX: Mitchell has had a string of success and highlights for 2010 which include winning the QLD title in the 65cc class and runner-up in the 85cc. Mitchell also collected the Australian title in the 9-11 years 85cc and represented Australia at both Oceania and the FIM World Championships where he placed 6th overall.

Egan Mastin (NSW) 12-13 years 85Sx & 150SX: Egan has stood on the podium at the NSW titles four years running, and in 2010 collected the win in the 12-13 years 85cc class. While Egan didn’t achieve his desired result at the junior nationals, he proved he has the speed to run with the countries fastest.

Andy Dinicol (VIC) 12-13 years 85SX & 150SX: Andy collected 4th overall at the junior nationals in 2009 and placed second at the Victorian titles on his 65cc the same year. Injury plagued Andy in 2010 but he came back strong at the junior nationals despite limited bike time collecting solid top ten race results.

Scott Mann (QLD) 15 years 150Sx and 250SX-F: Scott collected two Australian titles in 2010 in both the 85cc and up to 150cc classes and also placed third in moto one at the FIM World Junior title in France. Scott will step up to the 250SX-F and hopes to continue his success in 2011.

Kristy Gillespie (VIC/NSW) Women’s 250SX-F: Kristy is a two-time Australian title holder, former New Zealand champion and five time Victorian state champion. Kristy plans to head to the US in 2011 to further her international experience.

“I am really excited about the rider line up for 2011. It is a fresh, young team with riders who have raw talent to burn. This year will have a development focus for Evans, Mastin and Dinicol with an aim to link together this talent with our GMR team environment, while our returning riders aim to build on solid foundations.

GMR is also pleased to announce that Victorian young gun Callum Norton will be joining the line-up with a support position. The 10 year old is the current Victorian champion in the 65cc class and will race both the KTM65 and 85SX machines.

Team sponsors will be announced in coming weeks.
