Scott Mann wins national championship and Reece Rayner runner up at junior nationals - Day 6

Ringmaster Images Daily Report

GMR Motorex KTM racers Scott Mann and Reece Rayner have both scored podium results today at the Australian Junior Motocross Championships.

Scott Mann took class honours in the 13-14 years 125-150cc class in a nail biting final race against Hayden Melross with only a few bike lengths separating the two the entire race. While in the 14-15 years 85cc class, Scott took the race win in the fourth of five finals. The Championship for this class will be decided tomorrow, with Scott currently holding a 21 point lead.

Meanwhile, youngster Reece Rayner collected a well deserved second place in the final race in the 9-11 years 65cc class and cemented second overall in the Championship to fellow Queensland rider Hunter Lawrence. Reece was also keen to make amends in his 85cc racing and after a great start, rode hard to collect 5th place and 8th in the Championship.

Dylan Long also stepped out in the 15 years 125-150cc class, placing second in the fourth of five finals to Joey Savatgy (USA). The two riders rode hard, with only a second or two separating them the entire race. Dylan still retains the points lead by just 4 points heading into tomorrow’s final race. Dylan also competed in the third and final race of the Championship in the 15 years 250F class. With only 7 points separating the top six riders, it was anyone’s title to win or lose. Dylan gated well and rode home with a fourth place to secure fifth* (*correction) in the Championship

We will report again tomorrow after the conclusion of the remaining two Championship classes, followed by an overview report early next week.
