Ringmaster Images Daily Report

Hundreds of riders have now converged on the Lakes motocross circuit in NSW for the Australian Junior Motocross Championships. GMR Motorex racers Reece Rayner, Scott Mann and Dylan Long all took to the track on Day 1 of the event.  Jay Wilson has remained sidelined due to injury but was in attendance supporting his team mates for what will be a full-on and hectic week of racing.

Reece Rayner completed practice on both his KTM 65 and KTM 85 in the 9-11 years age group and was feeling confident. He went on to compete in two rounds of heats on the 65cc, collecting second place in each and clocked the fastest lap time in each. Reece also competed in a heat race for the 85cc class placing first, kicking off a great start to his Nationals campaign.
Scott Mann will compete in both the 13-14 years 125-150cc and 15 years 85cc classes for the event. Scott completed practice and two heats on his KTM 150SX placing first and second respectively. The schedule of racing means Scott will not hit the track on his 85cc until Tuesday, with five straight finals races to decide the Championship.

Both Reece and Scott had solid starts which positioned them well for each race and both rode smart to bring home their positions.

Dylan Long will compete in the 15 years 150 and 250F classes at this event. The 250 class kicked off today with practice and one heat. After a great start Dylan went to make an early pass for the lead only to be bumped off and relegated to 3rd last. Dylan charged back to 7th for the heat and also posted the fastest lap time for the race. Dylan will not compete on the KTM 150SX until Tuesday, where five straight finals are scheduled for the event.

Day two of racing is sure to shape up to be exciting, with good weather and depth of competition in all classes will no doubt produce great racing.

We look forward to reporting to you all again tomorrow. Wish us luck!
