GMR Motorex KTM racer Dylan Long wins two premier classes at Victorian Motocross Championships

Dylan Long recently claimed victory in two Championship classes at the Victorian Junior Motocross Championships on 28 & 29 August 2010.

Long claimed both titles at the final round held at Wonthaggi, with races remaining in what was a dominating performance throughout the series. Long took 11 races from 12 starts, with a third place the only blemish to his record, to seal the 13-u16 years 250F, while taking a clean sweep of all 12 races in the 13-u16 years 125-150cc class.

Long is the reigning 125-150cc and 85cc Champion, with the latest victories taking his state title tally to five.

“I am stoked to win both Championships in my final year as a junior’ said Long ‘Last year I won the 85cc and 125-150cc Championships so to continue where I left off and take another two class wins was what I was hoping for.

“The KTM 150SX and 250 SX-F have been awesome all season. They have been faultless.

“The tracks at each of the four rounds had something different to offer and kept me on my game to get the results I have.  I feel the biggest improvement through the year has been my fitness and starts so in the lead up to the Aussie’s I feel I’m ready to do what I have to do.

“Finally a big shout goes out to my team GMR Motorex KTM and associated sponsors and my family. Thank you.”

Team Manager Glenn Macdonald reflected on the series and said “I am extremely proud of Dylan and the results that he achieved. Longy rode brilliantly throughout the series and sealed both Championship classes with races remaining.

“The result takes Dylan’s State Championship tally to five, along with podium results at the World Championships, Super X and the Australian junior nationals. Dylan now turns his focus to the 2010 nationals at Lakes in September, while also beginning bike and suspension preparations for Super X which will commence a five round series soon after.

“With his current form we are looking forward to the results of his remaining events this season however we are under no illusions regarding the competition at the junior nationals and Super X.

“The whole team at GMR Motorex KTM and our associated sponsors would like to congratulate Dylan on yet another fantastic result.”
