Dylan Long takes two class wins at opening round of Victorian Motocross Championships
Dylan Long contested the first round of the Victorian Junior Motocross Championships at hilly and rain soaked circuit at Ballarat on 24 & 25 April 2010. The reigning 125-150cc champion and double title holder from 2009 was keen to come out strong at Monza Park.
“I had an awesome race meeting at Ballarat,” said Long. “My bikes were dialed perfect and handled the conditions really well. I also worked on some new techniques out on the track and changed up my line choices which worked awesome.
“I had a minor setback on the 250, but I am still the points leader so bring on round two! The next one is at Broadford and I love the track, it’s hilly like Ballarat and the MX Nationals will be there in the lead up so it should be unreal.”
Team manager Glenn Macdonald was on hand on Saturday to witness Dylan’s blinding opening day “Dylan was simply in a class all of his own at Ballarat on both the two and four stroke KTM machines, taking five wins from six starts over the weekend,” said Macdonald.
“Dylan’s riding has gone to an even higher standard, and he stood on the top spot on both podiums. This was a great start to his Championship campaign, and we are focused on keeping up the momentum at the next three rounds of competition.”
