Kristy Gillespie continues to dominate Victorian Motocross Championships

10-08-09

Kristy Gillespie was out and about again for GMR Motorex KTM at the penultimate round of the Victorian Motocross Championships at Ballarat on 8 & 9 August 09.

After rain during the week, the track was extremely technical and had dried out with huge ruts that had formed during the weekend of racing. The track hosted a huge variety of lines and proved challenging for many of the competitors.

Kristy Gillespie took three convincing race wins in the Women’s class, claiming the round win unchallenged and remains undefeated in the nine Women’s races for the series so far.

“I am really happy with my performance at round three of the Victorian Motocross,” said Gillespie.  “The Ballarat circuit was awesome, it was really technical with big ruts, and the rougher the track got the better I rode.

“I took three races in the Women’s class, which has given me quite a big margin in the Championship heading into the final round at Blue Rock in a few weeks time.

“I also entered the men’s B Grade Lites, and had a great day personally.  Racing the guys really gives me that extra motivation, and I shaved another six seconds off my lap time, so I am stoked.”

“I am really impressed by Kristy’s performance, and congratulate her on being undefeated so far in the nine races to date in the Women’s Championship” said Team Manager Glenn Macdonald.

”Kristy won her races by huge margins, and also takes with her a solid points lead heading into the final round for the Championship.  I am confident we will still see a number one plate on her bike heading into next season.”
