Jay Wilson and GMR Motorex KTM on the podium in Sunshine State Series at Coolum

In fine form, GMR Motorex KTM racer Jay Wilson has collected another two podium results at round five of the hotly contested Sunshine State Series at Coolum, taking home a first and second result from two class entries.
In the 14-15 years Mini-Lites class, Wilson from Glen Innes (NSW) was on fire on board his KTM 85 SX taking a clean sweep with three race wins to secure first overall for the round.

Commenting on his win Wilson said, "My bike was unreal. I really enjoyed racing at Coolum, and, it was really good for me to get some track time on a tough sandy surface."

In the 13-14 years Lites class, Wilson collected 1-2-3 for second overall for the event, behind Jacob Wright in second, and Thomas Rushton in third.

GMR Motorex KTM, Team Manager Glenn Macdonald was extremely proud of his new chargers results, and is looking forward to spending further development time with Jay.

"I will be heading up to Jay’s house next weekend to work with him, and his father Peter on some fine tuning of bike set-up," said Macdonald.

"Spending valuable bike time together in the lead up to his major Championship events is extremely important, particularly given that Jay is new to the KTM brand, and has recently returned from injury.

"Thorough preparation is the key, and with the way Jay is racing, I am sure that we will continue to see him at the pointy end of the field this season."

Jay Wilson will next compete at round one of the Queensland Motocross Championships in early May.

Stay tuned to and for Jay's results.
