Kristy Gillespie accepts a wildcard entry for MX Nationals

GMR Motorex KTM Racing is proud to advise that Kristy Gillespie has been offered a wild card entry for the opening round of the MX Nationals to be held at her home circuit in Albury-Wodonga on 4 & 5 April 2009.

The reigning Australian Women’s Motocross Champion will take on the challenge of lining up on the Pro Lite grid at the event on board her KTM 20SX-F and will race with the countries very best factory and privateer racers.

We have not yet checked the record books, however it is understood that Gillespie will be the first female racer in history to line-up on the Pro Lite grid in the Australian Motocross Championship.

The event will no doubt be a great experience and will be just one more stepping stone in Kristy’s preparation for the 2009 Women’s Motocross Championship to be held later this season.

“I am pretty excited about the invitation to race as it’s a really good opportunity to help promote the event, women’s racing and the sport locally in the Albury-Wodonga region.

I will be using the event as training for the up coming Australian Women’s Championship and working with my team and my mechanic in a high pressure situation.”

Stay tuned to as we hope to catch up with Kristy in more detail about her thoughts and preparation for the event in just four weeks time.

Congratulations Kristy!
