Jay Wilson joins GMR Motorex KTM Junior Racing Team

GMR Motorex KTM has announced a new addition to its factory supported junior race team with 14 year old Jay Wilson from Glen Innes, NSW, joining the team to race both the KTM 85 SX and KTM 250 SX-F in various state based and national events.

Recognised for his podium achievements throughout 2008 with a third place in the 2008 Queensland Junior Motocross Championships, and a second in the Sunshine State Series in the 85cc class, plus two series wins in the South East Queensland MX Series in the 12-15 years 85cc and 13-15 years 125cc classes, GMR Motorex KTM felt Jay was the perfect choice to add to the line-up of factory supported junior racers.

Jay Wilson has already started 2009 on a high at the recent Queensland Stadium-X events where he collected a number of podiums, as well as a win at the opening round of the Sunshine State Series at Coolum in the 14-15 years 85cc class, and a second in the 13-14 years Lites class against nationally recognised riders.

Commenting on the new recruit GMR Motorex KTM Junior Race Team Manager, Glenn Macdonald said, “KTM junior racing is all about progression through to the senior ranks of riders, who are committed to the sport and committed to representing the KTM brand.

“Jay is thrilled to be riding with GMR Motorex KTM, and we’re equally excited to have him on the team. Jay will have a progression year of learning new technique coached by GMR Motorex KTM, and we feel confident his racing will continue to improve throughout the racing season with many podium achievements.

“Jay will join fellow GMR Motorex KTM junior racers, Dylan Long and Sam Duncanson, and together we feel confident that our united approach and commitment to winning will see KTM dominate many junior events.”
