KTM juniors continue to rack up race wins in lead up to Aussie titles in WA

GMR Motorex KTM junior racers are continuing to rack up race wins at state based events in preparation for the biggest junior event of the year, the 2008 Australian Junior Motocross Championship taking place at Wanneroo (WA) from 29 Sept to 3 Oct.

Dylan Berwick from Burnie (TAS) who will enter both the 125cc and 250F 13-14 years class at the Junior Motocross Championship is back on his game, after a mid season injury sidelined him from competing for several months.    Over the past two weeks Berwick has returned to the podium securing second in the combined 125cc  and 250F 13-u16 years class at a Wanneroo club day in WA, and first in the 13-u 16 years 250F class at the Gippsland Region Series in Rosebud, VIC.

Team mate, Joben Baldwin from Albury (NSW) also contested the Wanneroo club day, securing the overall win in the 12-u16 years 85cc class.

Meanwhile under 15 years 125 & 250F favourite for the Junior Championship, Jason Reed from Maitland (NSW) has wrapped up the AMCROSS series in Picton, taking the final round win and the overall Championship title.

GMR Motorex KTM Junior Race Team Manager, Glenn Macdonald comments, “All team riders have been clocking up the kilometres in search of sandy tracks in preparation for the Australian Junior Motocross Championship at Wanneroo in WA, and they have been collecting excellent results along the way.

“The team will now start testing on new 2009 model KTM motorcycles at Wanneroo, trying various set up combinations to master the sand.   The sand can be unforgiving if you go in blind, so GMR Motorex KTM Junior Racing will be ensuring we get plenty of preparation.

“We will also be calling on the likes of senior KTM riders like WA State Motocross Champion, Michael Addison to give the juniors some expert tips for the Wanneroo circuit.  Addison is a master in the sand and has proven to be the best in WA for tackling the conditions.”

Hundreds of entries are confirmed for the Australian Junior Motocross Championship at Wanneroo, taking place over five days from September 29 to October 3.  All riders entered on a KTM, be it a factory racer or privateer will also have access to a technical support centre set up by KTM Australia.

Stay tuned to and for race results.
