Jesse Dobson & GMR Motorex KTM secure a podium finish at Queensland Junior Motocross Championships
On 26 & 27 April 2008, Jesse Dobson contested the final round of the Queensland Junior Motocross Championships at Kilcoy, Qld.
Dobson, who competed in the 9-u12 years 85 two stroke to 150 four-stroke class, entered the final round of racing in third place for the championship and was keen to improve his championship standing.
The event started well with two impressive race wins. Race two proved challenging for Dobson. After a first turn pile up young Jesse rode the wheels off his KTM 85 and made a hard charge through the field into the lead to take the race win. The incident in race two proved valuable for Dobson reducing championship leader, Joel Dinsdale’s lead to just 10 points. Dobson rode the final race with sheer determination, but an unfortunate crash resulted in a 13th place finish.
The 1-1-13 race results placed Dobson in 3rd place for the round at Kilcoy and a 3rd overall for the championship.

“The championship series has proved challenging for young Jesse with ups and downs including illness and injury. Despite these challenges, we are really proud of how Jesse has remained focused and finished on the podium with GMR Motorex KTM. During the series Jesse has had numerous race wins and has consistently been at the pointy end of the field which has not only displayed his talent and ability but has also ensured that his KTM is at the pointy end of the field along with our associated sponsors.”
“Jesse now turns his focus to the Australian Junior Motocross Championships in September where we will see him seeking out further race preparation at various state based races in the lead up to the week long event at Wanneroo in WA.”
