Reed & GMR Motorex KTM on the podium in debut event! Jason Reed makes an impressive debut at NSW Stadium-X

Glenn Macdonald Racing Motorex KTM new recruit, Jason Reed made an impressive debut at round four of the NSW Stadium-X Championships at Maitland on Saturday 10 November 2007. Despite the recent rain, the weather finally cleared and the track dried out during the day, which made for some great racing.

Jason, in front of his home town, was on board his new 2008 KTM 250 SXF and 125 SX machines and was keen to take a podium result in both classes.

Despite minimal testing and practice on board his KTM’s, Jason let his talent shine with 3-4-4 results in the Junior Lites class against tough competition and secured his first podium result with GMR Motorex KTM in 3rd place. Motorex KTM team mate Tye Simmons, who will step up into the u19’s class next season, continued his good form and took the win with Keiron Hall in 2nd.

Jason also raced the KTM 125cc in the 13-14 years 125cc and rode with absolute dominance. Jason nailed three consecutive holeshots and in the final moto really hit form riding fast and aggressive. The 1-1-1 moto results earned him the overall victory on the night in the 125cc class.

“My new KTM’s are working awesome, I got great starts all night on both bikes and felt really comfortable out there on the track.

I only got my bikes during the week so to come out and be competitive on them straight up was a real confidence booster and I’m really looking forward to spending a few more hours on the track to personalize the set-up.”

Team Manager, Glenn Macdonald couldn’t be any more pleased with Jason’s result “The plan was for Jason to soak up the home town atmosphere and begin his preparation on the KTM’s in race conditions, so to come out and score results like this is a fantastic start for young Reedy with the junior factory KTM team.”

Stay tuned for further updates and race results.
