QLD based KTM juniors Dobson & Duncanson on the podium again

Racing on familiar soil proved rewarding for Queensland based GMR Motorex KTM Junior Racers, Sam Duncanson and Jesse Dobson, who both took to the podium in home state events over the weekend.

Duncanson competed in the Queensland Stadium X Series at Archerfield where he won the 13-u15 years 250F class, while Dobson competed in the Kilcoy junior support races taking second overall in the 9-u 13 years 85cc class, behind privateer KTM racer, Nick Scott.

In his second event under GMR Motorex KTM factory colours, Duncanson from Cleveland, QLD, squared a long standing battle with competitor Shaun Redhead, who beat him at the Toowoomba Arena X earlier in the month.

“I found my rhythm at Archerfield, and as each race went on I got more and more confident on the KTM 250 SX-F,” said Duncanson. “I got the hole shot in each race and rode away with the win pretty much unchallenged.”

Sunshine Coast racer Jesse Dobson, enjoyed his podium at the Kilcoy junior support races, winning his first moto on the KTM 85SX by eight seconds completely dominating the field.

“Everything started off really well for me in the first moto and I was pumped up for the next races,” said Dobson. “I had a few crashes in the following moto having to work my way up through the field before crossing the finishing line with a front flat tyre in third. Then in the final race I was back in routine and won the race unchallenged.

“Even though I won two races and got a third in the other it just wasn’t enough to take the win. Nick Scott also on the KTM 85SX had more consistent results in each race so he took the win by a small amount of points, and I got second, which I’m still really happy with.”
