Gillespie takes another win in preparation for the National Womenís Motocross

Kristy Gillespie is getting stronger on the KTM 250 SX-F as she continues her intense training regime leading up to the Women’s National Motocross Championship, with another win at a club event, this time being the Ararat Open, held at Ararat in north-west Victoria.

Riding for GMR Motorex KTM Racing, Gillespie took four straight wins in the Women’s Class, which secured the overall win for the team. Striving to improve at every chance she gets, Gillespie also competed against the guys, just as she did in the u19’s National Series last year.

Commenting on her racing Gillespie said, “I’m setting challenges for myself to find new speed in preparation for the Women’s National Motocross Championship kicking off on March 9, at Tivoli in Queensland.

“I’m really pushing myself competing in combined events with the guys. In the B Grade Lites I picked up mid field results against the guys and in the Dash for Cash I got 8th in my first moto and 5th in my second moto.

“Overall results have not yet being tallied by the promoters for the races with the guys, but I’m not after points on the board, this is all about preparation and training for me leading up to the Nationals and I’m stoked to have dominated the Women’s Class with a win for GMR Motorex KTM Racing.”

Kristy Gillespie will next compete at the Murray River Masters in Cobram (Northern Victoria) on the weekend of March 1-2.
