GMR Motorex KTM juniors dominate at Tooradin Arenacross / Supercross

The National Summer of Arenacross and Supercross kicked off at Tooradin in Victoria on the weekend, in front of 8000 strong fans coming out in force to support senior and junior racers.
GMR Motorex KTM racers’ Joben Baldwin from Albury, NSW, and Dylan Berwick from Bernie, TAS, were stand out riders in the junior ranks, finishing with a one-two podium in the 13 to under 16 years 125cc class, for Arenacross racing.

Race Team Manager, Glenn MacDonald comments, “The KTM 125 SX kept these guys at the front of the battlefield with hardly any competition. They finished one and two, taking 1-2 and 2-1 respectively for the opening races, giving them both a taste of victory to come.

“Entering the third moto on equal positions, Baldwin was entangled in a race incident relegating him down the field, while Berwick took the race win.

“In the final race of the night, Baldwin had a great start with Berwick not so fortunate. Baldwin held position for 3rd as Berwick fought his way through the pack to 7th.

“Final results for Baldwin were 1-2-14-3 while Berwick achieved 2-1-1-7, giving him first place in class for the overall race meeting, while Baldwin happily took second. Third in class was Luke Clout.

“Berwick also competed in the Junior Lites Supercross, which was his first event riding the KTM 250 SX-F. He picked up 3-3-6 in results and was most impressive in the rhythm sections, plus he was one of only three riders in the class to clear the triple in the centre of the circuit. Berwick’s combined results gave him third overall of the Junior Lites Supercross racing, which is a great confidence booster for future 250F junior races.”

Final results for the Junior Lites Supercross racing saw Dylan Gosling 1st, Jake Ridley 2nd and Dylan Berwick 3rd.

GMR Motorex KTM Junior Racing will next compete at round two of the National Summer of Supercross and Arenacross at Dubbo in NSW, on Saturday March 1.
