Dobson & GMR Motorex KTM maintain Sunshine State Series lead

GMR Motorex KTM young gun Jesse Dobson attended the second round of the Sunshine State Series at Coolum on 23 February 2008 and despite a race incident, maintained the series lead in the 9-u11 years 85cc class. In the first moto, Dobson secured the holeshot on board his KTM 85SX and found good rhythm, taking the win comfortably with a 10 second lead over the competition.

In the second moto of the day, as Dobson was on the grid for his race start the meeting was red flagged due to soaring temperatures which reached a staggering 43 degrees. As the temperature began to drop, the second moto commenced. Dobson again secured a holeshot to the first turn but on the third lap crashed his machine. With damage to the bike, Dobson needed to straighten the bars and front wheel so that he could continue.

A determined Dobson finished in 4th place overall for the day and maintains his series lead by six points.

Jesse Dobson will race at next week’s National Summer of Supercross & Arenacross at Dubbo in NSW on 1 March.

Stay tuned to and for Jesse’s results.
