Jason Reed takes to the podium on return from injury

GMR Motorex KTM junior racer, Jason Reed broke his collarbone only seven weeks ago and through professional sports rehabilitation and team support has worked hard to be back on the bike and back on the podium.

Entering the first round of the NSW AMCROSS Series in Bega NSW on the KTM 250 SX-F over the weekend, Reed secured a second place podium behind Bradley Machet who took the win.

Commenting on his results Reed said, “In my opening race, I had a poor start but quickly improved to round up the field. Then as I was making a pass for the lead in the later stages of the race, I was taken down by a lapped rider which pushed me back to around 15th position. I was able to make up a few passes in the dying stages and pick up a 12th place by the finish.

“The final two races of the day were more reflective of the work I have been putting into my return to racing and my recovery. I won both of the remaining races and if it wasn’t for my misfortune in the opening moto, I would have likely taken out the win, but I’m totally stoked with second overall.”

GMR Motorex KTM Race Team Manager, Glenn MacDonald says, “It’s great to have Jason back with the team and racing again. The opening race was a little disappointing for him but having said that, we couldn’t be any happier with Jason’s preparation and recovery since breaking his collarbone only seven weeks ago.

“The team is really pleased that Jason is fit and comfortable on the KTM 250 SX-F and he is looking smooth and fast. Jason’s second place overall in the Junior Lites is a great result for him and GMR Motorex KTM, giving us great confidence going into the National Rookies Series this weekend.”
