Gillespie wins women's racing at Melton Open with Berwick 2nd in 125/250cc racing
Jesse Dobson, the youngest member of the GMR Motorex KTM Racing Team competed in the Queensland Motocross Championship over the Easter weekend and put in a determined performance to secure second place for the round.
Dobson who resides in Noosa, QLD placed second in the 85cc 9-12 years class, taking three hole shots from each of his races and just missing out on the win, which went to Joel Dinsdale.
Meanwhile, in the senior ranks Todd Waters took double class wins in both the Pro Lites and Pro Open class riding for the senior Motorex KTM Racing Team.
Dobson comments, “I was sick with tonsillitis and really shouldn’t have been racing, but I just didn’t want to miss my home state championship.
“I got the hole shot on the KTM 85 SX in each of my three races and led the 9-12 years 85cc class for 90 percent of each race, but sickness plus a few errors didn’t allow me to win this time.
“All other the factory team junior racers were there and I’m glad to have taken second for Motorex KTM, hopefully at the next round this weekend in Gladstone I will be back to my usual healthy state to get the win.”
